WCA2010 -The real attraction

This what actually caught my eyes other than normal-item-paintball booth inside the WCA expo village.... at the Road To World Cup Asia 2011 promo booth....

I notice something familiar....

Hell yeah! It's our last year WCA appearance.... and they got us in the 2011 WCA promotion ad, and top of all its says... "Where legend begins".

'Legend remains victorious in spite of history'.

From this ad 'legend line-up', started left were Aznan 'Tinker', Rxa 'Krawler', Nina 'Mizz Nina', Atras 'Maq7' & Anas 'X-men'... Doing our breakout pose- possibly in the final round of Div3 where we lost to SSC Killer. Its also a debut in our new commemorative jersey after our MPOC Div3 Champ.

Hope, this will mark our WCA COMEBACK... Huurahh!

PRE-ASIA CUP 2011; OPEN DIVISION

CANCELLED

Just 48 hour before tourney... Raptoscar being called by Asia Cup officiate about cancellation of Open Division because of low participation. Even it's not a shocking news- because of clashing date with WCA 2010. But the cancellation had disappointed most of the player, despite the fact that some had commit and put some effort into this last tourney....

This will be another good example, when an organizer refusal to acknowledge others prominent tourney date and still offering their services to this small paintball community.... in the end, team who had decide what is best for their team will be the most effected- a victim.

still looking foward for Asia Cup 2011- but if it's not MPOC 1st leg in our mind la...

World Cup Asia vs Pre-Asia Cup

2009 has been Oscar debut + best moment in World Cup Asia. Crowned as 2009 Division 3 Overall Champ, Oscar got a WCA registration waive and at the end manage to clinched our 1st international medal by being 1st runner up for div3. Lost only to SSC Killer from Sarawak in our most controversial final (where most of spectator saw what really happen), we promise to bring back another medal this year as we step into upper division...

But that's not gonna happen...

With only 2 leg into MPOC 2010, there's no way Oscar gonna repeat their success stories as same as last year.... Beside financial, Oscar seems struggling in getting the best line-up for this year WCA. This where Raptorian fit-in. 3 weeks after Raptor early exit in NPL 2010 Grand Finale, both teams agreed to participate for 2010 last tourney with minimal cost- but not WCA. Its will be the Pre-Asia Cup.

RM450 for Open Div registration plus RM150 per box of pallet- what more can you ask for lower cost tourney....with a prize package that still interesting to be won. So it's not hard to decide Pre-Asia as Oscar+Raptor last tourney for 2010. But, its happen to be the same date with WCA. For teams that already register for WCA maybe mix-up by Pre-Asia Cup had offer... But still not a smart move for Pre Asia to compete with WCA as most of paintball team had concentrate for WCA... But the on the positive side- good for experimental team that want to try new tactic & line-up for next year. and that's our intention thou...

Last tourney for 2010...

may sound klise, but it maybe the not-so-official merge of both teams for next year project.
Its- Raptoscar for this Pre Asia Cup 2011. Differ from what Oscar had planned before (eg. ISSC) in getting 'guest player' to fill in the roster- Raptoscar only consist among Raptorian & Oscar Comrade that actively played together. Few of Oscar Comrade had guested for Raptor's NPL team... & few Raptor's had been in Oscar's MPOC & ISSC line-up this year along....

Its will be an experiment for both teams in term of tactics & strategies in our preparation for 2011...

I just can't wait for our new battle-cry before 10 sec warning...

Its been a habit nowadays- only a week after tourney did i have a time to write a review. Our early knock-out in preliminary stage somehow, also contribute to this late write-up... MPOC 4th leg location really create a new atmosphere after almost 2 years held at Xtionpaintball Bukit Jalil....

MPOC 4th Leg will be remembered as ours toughest leg so far, even we tried to bring full line-up (Max line-up for previous Oscar's MPOC - only 6). Oscar ranked 5th position and for not qualified for semi-final stage.... its our fastest exit in any tourney~ shame on us.

Its not easy to catch-up in high adrenaline Div2 if you tend to miss out 2 previous leg. Out of 7 team, 4 had play all 4 legs and Team Dark Angel played 3 previous legs. 4th leg 1st Runner-up -Ronin Nexus- the only team that manage to get podium spot in their debut leg.... Total of 5 games per team for this prelim and top 4 will continued straight for semi final.... Here's the review for Oscar's MPOC 2010 4th Leg....

Padang Merbok with love... MPOC 2010 4th leg

So far, this will be the debut tourney for MPOC's new mobile netting- Sup'airball ARENAS. And for the 2nd time Oscar will play at Padang Merbok since our debut in speedball back in early 2007- to be precise 3-4 February 2007.

Its was 'Rainforest Oscar' debut in My-NPL Div3 (the lowest division available back in 2007) fighting along with the 'famous' team-Wolverine, Ronin Legion, No Mercy & few other nowadays Div1's team. Using only mechanical marker available by organizer, whilst other advance team started in using e-marker- the naive Oscar comrade didn't put any target for their 1st appearance....

End of the day - Oscar ranked 18 out of 30 team participated and of course- 2nd round, is not in Oscar sight, yet.... So, the story goes on..

MALACCA: Five paintball enthusiasts found themselves on the wrong side of the law when they were caught with a collection of bullets, combat gear, an automatic pistol and several fake guns, among others.

The police said, however, aside being paintball fans and running businesses related to the recreational sport, none of the five had a criminal record or had been involved in crime.

“However, we are investigating how they came to be in possession of a genuine automatic pistol and over 500 rounds of assorted ammunition,” said Malacca police chief Senior Asst Comm (I) Datuk Rodwan Mohd Yusof.

SAC Rodwan said the five – aged 31 to 40 – were arrested in separate raids here and in Selangor and Perak between June 26 and July 8.

Over 20 items were seized during the raids, including a 9mm automatic pistol, four replica pistols and three replica machine guns.

Also seized were a bow and arrows, telescopic gun sights, two kukris, army camouflage attire and over 500 rounds of assorted bullets.

Rodwan said the police have not ruled out the possibility that one of the suspects had links to either the police or the armed forces.

He warned the public not to buy replica firearms or army camouflage fatigues as it was an offence to do so.

To Pojie of Eastsiderz, your speed & experience was really helpful when the time Oscar needed. To all Oscar Comrade Aznan Ahmad, Mohd Zul Anaz, Rxa 'Krawler' Zidane, Nashrina Sunarto- Oscar do what an Oscar does... even with the best player guesting for our team, nothing can compare to our own team will & spirit... u all still Oscar's finest basterd. To Sukri Ali , TQVM for keeping ur promise to be our crew (even u still can be our 8th!), but sorry for not gettng u a medal as been promised.... U manage our logistic well...

So, this last-minute experimental team was a success... just need a better result. Hope there will be next time.

No MPOC- 2nd round for OSCAR

Tqvm for Allan Phang from MPOC for the help in getting us line-up for this 2nd round... very very much appreciated. But there's something we had learn from NPL 09 4th round - you cannot get the real team momentum with only 4 original, even with full line-up (additional 3 guest players)... defer from 5 original players with only 1 guest player (mostly of our last year line-up).

Maybe this won't effect some others team, but not with Oscar.... We had all the chemistry a team needed to give a good fight... so, even if its hard to decide, pulling out from any tourney will be our suitable solution, so far-lah. We'll try our best in next round.

We had a good start in MPOC... but not NPL... missing 1 round will give a big impact in chasing the overall ranking this year... We have tried playing with 2 guest player in MPOC but thinking in getting 5 guest player in OSCAR line-up for NPL is not a smart start. So, with a team decision in letting-go NPL 1st round.... means we have to give more fight in the 2nd round.... insyaallah...

MPOC 2010 1st Round Div 2 Debut- Amazing facts to remember

1) Still not familiar with X-Ball format, OSCAR's debut tourney consist of 6 players & 1 crew only...

2) After 61 days without playing together (since lost in Div 3 Final WCA 09 to SCC Killers), its been a back-to-back lost again for OSCAR to RED SEVEN in opening match of Div 2. This what we called -OSCAR MORNING SICKNESS.

3) End of day 1, OSCAR VALKYRIE had got their new patriotic name.... team OSMAN BAKRI.

4) Winning againsts D'Mercy Kidz in semifinal was our 2nd win in this leg to this former Div1 team... half of the team still consist of reg. NPL Div1 player..

5) Total games played until final - 20 games with only 11 boxes.
